Giveaway & Review of Fantastic Chef, an Unlimited Korean Charcoal Grill Restaurant with a Menu Curated by an A-List Korean Chef

The samgyupsal craze is here to stay but with a lot of Unlimited Korean Grill Restaurants popping up here and there, it can be tough choosing which samgyupsal restaurant to try. What sets Fantastic Chef apart from the rest is that their menu is curated by an A-list chef, Chef Jang Jangyun who was the head chef of a 3-star Michelin restaurant in Korea.

Fantastic Chef

Fantastic Chef is certainly a cut above the rest of the Unlimited Korean Grill restaurants due to its noteworthy food which is priced reasonably. The way they cure, age and even cut their meat is special which is one of the reasons why their food stands out from other samgyupsal places. 

Chapchae

Their chapchae is really good. Unlike other chapchae which relies on sweetness, their chapchae has an umami taste.

Choke full of flavor, their pork skirt is deliciously tender and the marination is delicious too.

The pork cheeks was good too, it was tender and chewy.

Slightly spicy and savory in taste, I found their fish cakes to be quite addictive.

Unlimited Cheese

At first sight, you can immediately see that the cheese Fantastic Chef uses is real cheese. You can spot the chunks of mozzarella before you melt it off. Their cheese is deliciously creamy and is a real treat for cheese lovers. It tastes good with their beef bacon.

Flavorful and delicious, their kimchi soup had the right amount of spiciness for me. It's not too spicy, it just had a hint of spiciness.

Review

At Fantastic Chef, you really get what you pay for. The delicious marinade and the tasteful sauce paired with the carefully selected cuts of meat will leave you coming back for more. It's my first time trying a Korean Grill restaurant that uses charcoal and it's one of the reasons why Fantastic Chef's food is downright delicious. When the meat drips its sauce down to the charcoal, the delicious meat flavor comes right back up as the charcoal cooks your meat so the more meat you grill, the smokier your meat becomes.

Even my husband who is not fond of samgyupsal loves the food at Fantastic Chef. That's just how good their food is.

The place is well ventilated, the room is not smokey at all despite the place being full of customers. They also have high chairs which is a relief for us.

Also, I really appreciate their plates. Whenever I eat samgyupsal, the sauces always get in the way or too far from me because the table becomes crowded but with their plates, the sauces don't get in the way at all.

Menu

PORK: cheek, spicy pork bulgogi, thin pork belly, pork belly, skirt meat, rack, seasoned pork neck, and jowls meat.

CHICKEN: seasoned chicken bbq and spicy chicken bbq

BEEF: seasoned beef plate, beef plate, and beef bulgogi

SIDE DISH: chapchae, pickles, muchim, kimchie, coleslaw salad, denjang soup, steamed egg, and fish cake

Unli cheese sauce!

They also sell Korean Soju and Korean ice cream separately.

3+1 promo

If you come in as a group of 4, your total bill will be around P1,500 (if you avail the P499) which means each of you needs to pay only P375 each. Their 3+1 promo is extended until August 31, 2019. The 3+1 promo is available only from 11AM to 4PM daily and the last call will be at 3:30PM.
