Taking a vacation to a faraway place is a thrilling adventure but if you’re on a budget then the last thing you would want to do is spend more money on food on the way to your destination. It can be a challenge to find food joints that serve cheap but delicious food especially if you’re unfamiliar with the place.
Unplanned trips like ours can be fun but can also be a hassle especially if you’re on a budget like us. Searching for places that serve cheap but good food can be time-consuming which is why I want to share with you the restaurants we discovered that are perfect for the budget traveler.

BALIWAG IHAW PLAZA (BALIUAG, BULACAN)
Foodies on a Budget will love: Free Iced Tea & Unli Rice Meals for P88. Free Soup.
What we ordered: Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet Meal P88, Chicken Inasal P88, Arroz Caldo P40 Fried Lumpia P12 & Pork BBQ P15.

NICE EATERY (LA UNION)
Foodies on a Budget will love: Wide variety of cheap dishes. Free bulalo soup (just the soup not the meat).
What we ordered: 2 beef bulalo - total of P110, 3 vegetable dishes P30 each, 1 fish dish P40 & 3 rice P10 each.
Food to try: Beef Bulalo
Address: MacArthur Highway, Poblacion Central, Sison, Pangasinan, La Union in front of Victory Liner Inc.
During our trip, we tried three other restaurants but two of the restaurants were a bit pricier while the other was not that good so I ended up not including them on my list.
In Vigan, we found some really delicious sugarcane juice which I ended up going back to order again. Of course, getting some Empanada is a must. Read about my Manila to Ilocos Norte Food Trip.
IRENE'S LOCAL DELICACIES
I was also searching for some local delicacies and we stumbled upon Irene's Native Delicacies. The Special Tupig was really delicious.
